We are creeping up on our 200th video in the new year.  Way back in 2006 I started the company because I couldn’t find shaggy alt guys all in one place.  Chris answered an ad and he was the first guy we ever shot in October of that year.  I didn’t know a thing about lights or cameras or editing (some will argue that I still don’t…but enough about my mom.)  I had to hire someone to come in and shoot Chris, which is the only one that someone else shot for several years after that.  For about 2 years after that I was also hiring editors until I realized we’d probably go belly up if I didn’t learn to do everything by myself.  I did just that, and for better or worse I still edit all and shoot most of my own content.  I say most because recently we’ve had a few guys shoot their own content and occasionally I have models closer to New York who I have a friend shoot there.  Thanks to everyone who’s supported our efforts over the years.  We really appreciate it and couldn’t have done it without members with similar appreciation for the alt man!

 Alex Schultz is our latest find.  It is true that he doesn’t appear to be outwardly the most alt type guy we’ve ever had on the site.  I believe that you can be alternative in the life you lead without having to be covered in tats or piercings or with whatever your hair looks like.   I made the call to put Alex on the site after we talked and he told me that he’s a drummer in a rock band.  He really is a rocker dude (even if he looks a bit clean cut).  I’ll never make a habit of getting clean cut guys on all the time, but the few we’ve had on have been true to an Alternadudes type lifestyle by being a rocker, snowboarder, skydiver or whatever they do that gives them that certain edge.  You’ll notice too that when we do get someone a bit more clean cut I try to pair them with someone a little more extreme in their looks.  Hence Alex being paired with Lucius.  Which brings me to the inner workings of this scene.Lucius is an extremely sensual person.  He loves to touch and make out and be gentle in the love making process. This scene captures that sensuality well with lots of long shots of their kissing and of different body parts (especially their faces and in particular Alex’s gorgeous lips) as they experience and explore each other.  There is no fucking in this scene and in fact, Lucius doesn’t cum but that was a call I made to try to capture the loving, giving nature of a punk who looks so different than what lies within him.  You’ll also notice that Alex likes to peer directly into the camera.  I noticed him doing it when we started and told him to keep doing it.  It’s my opinion that he gives the impression that he knows you’re watching him.  (And that helps to get him off.)  I rarely get a hard on as I edit my own material because I’m looking for imperfections or listening for an unwanted whispered direction or a real name called out by someone, but I have to say that Alex staring up into the camera as he gets blown or rimmed or jerked gave me a little stir down under.  I hope you enjoy the scene and appreciate the beauty of Alex, his big DSL, and the sensuality of Lucius.  As always, let us know what you think!

We’ve been trying to get guys from around the country to submit their own vids for a while now.  For whatever reason, it’s never worked out. It’s time again for the Cybersocket Awards.  I love them, but have spent money over the last year to advertise so it’s no surprise we’re nominated again.  what I love is that we are in one category (as opposed to three last year) and that we’re always up against multi-million dollar companies.  Men.com came thrusting out of the gates last year with backers that would make your eyes water…Guess who won?  MEN.COM!  Who are we up against again?  MEN.COM!  and about 25 others who have millions of dollars at their disposal…..so vote for us our friends and fans.  But who gives a shit really.  I don’t have space for a trophy in my tiny little house anyway.  The point is that without money backing you and a staff of 125 people we don’t have a chance.  So vote away.  Or don’t.  I’ll go again this year….stand in line once again… and pay for my own drinks while the big people once again act like I’m some weirdo from outer space who just fell off the truck.  Believe it or not, we’re still getting backlash for putting up guys who aren’t of the norm.  Alternadudes will never ever win any awards most likely unless we’re bought out by someone.  But we’ll always be nominated as a way of saying thanks for spending your few dollars when you could win if you just spent a little more.

TS Foxxy first came into the Alternadudes world back in January at an awards show in West Hollywood.  Tristan is friends with her and introduced us.  She’s a sweetie with braces and a happy-go-lucky demeanor.  We talked briefly and tossed around the idea of doing a scene together that we could share on our sites.  The night ended and nothing really came of the conversation.  Then, in April we met up again and this time Foxxy and I actually shared a hotel room together for the Phoenix Forum industry convention.  She was great to hang out with and she introduced me to some great and sexy guys.  (I doubt Tommy Defendi would have hung out laying on my bed next to me with a beer in his hand had Foxxy not been there…).  The weekend ended and again that was that.Then, out of the blue last week, Tristan called to say Foxxy was in town and the two of them wanted to work together.  I wasn’t quite sure what to make of the whole thing.  It’s definitely not the direction that Alternadudes has been going since its inception but the more I thought about it, the more I was excited to shoot it.  Tristan is a great guy, Foxxy is a fun, great chick and they’re both sexy as hell.  It’s not the direction we’re taking Alternadudes permanently but at the end of the day, when you think of it, who’s more of an Alternadude anyway?  Foxxy or Tristan?  At any rate, this scene will also be available on Foxxy’s site down the road at some point.  We’re sharing this particular scene.  If you like what you see, though, be sure to check out Foxxy’s site:  TS-Foxxy.comLet us know what you think and why.  We love hearing from you and hope you enjoy the scene! 

I want to personally thank the owner of MJ’s for a great night.  Although there was a bit of drama with him not caring for Saint Dillon or Charles Bronson the night itself was a great night.  (He made them get off the stage because he didn’t like the way they looked – specifically saying to get “the Asian guy” off the stage…unless Saint Dillon didn’t get the memo, he’s not Asian…and even if he was…well I’m not going to stomp on how he runs his business) the night itself was a great night.  The crowd was big, the stars made good tips dancing, and some of the people in the crowd told me it was the best Tuesday night they’d seen in at least 5 weeks.  I have no way of verifying that, but that’s what the word from the fans.I should also remind the owner that this site is called Alternadudes for a reason.  We don’t have all buff white guys, which is a policy that he seems to like to keep in place when choosing his dancers.  I had to fight to get Murphy Maxwell to be able to dance.  He reluctantly agreed, but then didn’t complain when he saw that Murphy was making the most money.  He also took issue with Tristan privately, but didn’t say a word to him about anything.  (Which means that he didn’t like any of our guys.)  The ones he took off the stage, ended up leaving, taking groups of people with them.All in all, it was a great night.  Everyone had fun for the most part.  This was our second event and I’m questioning if there will be a third.  It’s always on the bar’s terms, and their terms always seem to include wanting to squeeze us into a box that we don’t fit into.  But despite my minor gripes, MJs was very nice to us and we are grateful for them giving us the time in their schedule to bring you our guys, our site, and our DVDs.
